Protected Resource Identification and Mapping

Moyse Environmental Services has provided protected resource identification and mapping throughout Maine over the last 30 years. These services are required for residential, commercial and municipal projects. These resources include wetlands, waterbodies, vernal pools, hydric soils, shoreland zones, and significant wildlife habitats.

Soil Science and Soil Surveys

Our certified soil scientist has over 30 years of experience conducting High Intensity Soil Surveys at each of the four levels (A, B, C and D). We would be pleased to meet with you to discuss and define your project goals, and to develop a scope of services that would meet your needs.

Site Evaluation and Wastewater Disposal System Design

We have over 30 years of experience in the evaluation of soils and the designing of residential and commercial septic systems. We have designed hundreds of residential septic systems for first time or replacement systems. We also are involved in "engineered systems" for larger projects.

Moyse Environmental Services works closely with builders, contractors, developers, realtors and potential new homeowners to determine the suitability of a parcel for new dwellings to multi-family housing projects.

Project Guidance and Permitting

Moyse Environmental can help you through all phases of your project, from our initial meeting to review and discuss your concept plan to thoroughly evaluating your site’s characteristics and identifying any potential limitations to planning and permitting your project to monitoring its construction to completion. We have the expertise and experience to help you get it done successfully.

GIS/CAD and GPS Mapping

We provide Global Positioning System (GPS) mapping of your site’s features, including protected resources, soils, existing development, etc. that can then be used to properly plan and permit your project. We use the latest GPS technology and equipment and have capable staff to process and use this data to create detailed maps for your project’s planning.

Agriculture

Moyse Environmental Services provides consulting and plant or soil sampling to assist clients with all of their soil fertility needs, from growing a garden, to establishing a healthy lawn to larger agricultural production of crops.

Project Compliance and Inspections (3PI)

We offer a broad range of services for environmental compliance monitoring and third-party inspection, such as:

- Proper installation and maintenance of the erosion and sediment control measures
-Stabilization of disturbed soils and the prevention of impacts to resources on the site
- Crossing of natural resources or work adjacent to resources, such as wetlands or the stream
- Monitoring of clearing activities adjacent to natural resources
